Some tough decisions had to be made about releasing Grind Season. Like the project's lead song "Bandwagon Music," Grind Season is over a decade old but just recorded this year. So you can imagine I've grown a lot as a human and an artist.

When you listen to the 2nd verse and parts of the 3rd, you will hear some heavy tones of misogyny. At the time I wrote this, I knew what I was doing, and justified it as "bars for bars sake." That was acceptable as an early 20s young man who was contempt with the "everyone else is doing it" mindset. But as a now 40 year old fully grown adult with young mentees who watch and listen to what I say and do, I recognize the problematic nature of this thinking.

So you may be asking why release it? Because art is still left to interpretation at the end of the day, and if anyone who doesn't know me happened to come across this song as their 1st impression of who I am as an artist, I'd quickly redirect them to other music that demonstrates the full range of who I am, if I had the opportunity to speak directly with them.

Aside from that, this is another fun song if you're able to overlook the misogyny.
